Shipping

How much is shipping?

Shipping is always free, whether you are in Australia or anywhere else in the world.

How long will my order take?

Rolled prints: 7 to 10 working days. Framed artwork: 5 to 6 weeks (each piece is custom printed and framed to order). International orders: rolled only, timeframes may vary and can take a little longer.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide and shipping is complimentary. International orders are shipped rolled only. We are unable to ship framed artwork internationally due to the risk of damage in transit.

What couriers do you use?

FedEx/TNT for most Australian deliveries (framed and rolled). AusPost for rolled orders 1000mm and under. DHL for international orders (rolled only) and occasionally framed orders to remote Western Australia. SBS Studio Van for local deliveries in the Mornington Peninsula and metro Melbourne area.

Can I track my order?

Yes. You will receive tracking information via email once your artwork is with the courier. Orders are scanned at each stage of production and you will receive updates along the way.

Can I delay my delivery?

Yes. Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com as soon as possible and we can place your order on hold until your preferred delivery date.

Can I change my delivery address?

Yes. Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com with your order number and new address as soon as possible.

Can you deliver to a PO Box?

Unfortunately we are unable to deliver artwork to a PO Box due to the size of our packages. Adding a PO Box as your shipping address may delay shipping until we are provided with an alternative address.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

We recommend being home to receive your artwork. Unfortunately couriers may leave items even when signature is requested. If you know you will not be home, we can hold shipping until a date that suits you, or you can provide an alternative address such as a work address. For SBS studio van deliveries, we can offer authority to leave in a safe place.

I received a shipping notification but my artwork hasn't arrived?

Occasionally our system may send a notification early. If you receive a shipping notification but your artwork has not arrived, your artwork may not have been dispatched yet. You will receive another tracking notification when it is actually on its way.

Can I pick up my order from the studio?

Yes. Our studio is at 1/3 Merino Street, Rosebud VIC 3939. Pickup is available by appointment Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. Please note the studio is a working production space. Email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com to arrange a pickup time.

How many people need to be home for a large delivery?

One person is fine for standard-sized framed pieces. For larger framed works, a second pair of hands is helpful to bring the artwork inside safely.

My tracking hasn't updated in a few days. Is my package lost?

If your tracking link has not updated within 3 business days, please contact us at howdy@stephbrookestudio.com as soon as possible. In most cases the package is delayed in transit, but it is important for us to know so we can follow up with the courier.

Am I responsible for international customs and duties?

Yes. Orders shipped outside of Australia may be subject to import duties, fees and taxes of the destination country. These are the responsibility of the customer and are outside of our control.

Prints

What is the difference between canvas and cotton rag (fine art paper)?

Satin Canvas: 340gsm, 65% polyester/35% cotton, satin finish, durable and water resistant, archival 75+ years. Available rolled or framed. Most true to Steph's originals.

Fine Art Paper (Cotton Rag): 320gsm, 100% cotton, matte finish, archival 100+ years. Rolled only, framing not offered. Must be framed behind glass and handled with care. Both included in sample swatches.

What does rolled mean?

Unstretched and unframed, shipped in a protective tube. Most affordable option. Ships within 7 to 10 working days.

What does ready to hang mean?

Stretched on a timber stretcher bar and framed in your chosen colour, with hanging hardware attached. Hang it straight out of the box.

What sizes are available?

Sizes vary by artwork and are listed on each product page. Common sizes range from 47 x 47cm up to 150 x 204cm. Some artworks are available up to 290cm rolled.

Can I order a custom size?

Some artworks can be cropped to custom sizes. Custom sizes are priced at the next standard size up. Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com to discuss options.

Are the prints limited edition?

Edition numbers vary by artwork. Some are editions of 20, some of 50, some of 200, and some are open edition. Editions are per size, per material. The exact edition number for each artwork is listed on its product page. Each limited edition print comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

What is the difference between your prints and mass market wall art?

Our fine art prints are limited editions made with museum-grade materials and professional framing techniques to ensure longevity and exceptional quality. Each piece is hand-signed by Steph and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Mass market wall art is open edition with unlimited printing, produced with standard materials. They are not comparable products.

Can I get a portrait or landscape orientation?

Many artworks offer both. Available orientations are shown on each product page.

Do you sell digital files of the artwork?

No. Maintaining the integrity of our limited editions is central to what we do. Offering digital files would make it impossible to ensure the exclusivity, quality control and longevity of the artwork as intended by the artist.

Can I see more photos of a specific artwork?

Of course! Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com and we will do our best to help.

Framing

What frame colours do you offer?

We offer four frame options: Black, White, Ash and Blackwood. All frames use ethically sourced timbers.

How much does the frame add to the artwork size?

Approximately 3cm to the total dimensions. The shadow line between the print and frame is 5mm, plus 1cm of timber on each side. Framed canvas prints are 55mm deep off the wall with a 10mm wide front face.

Why can't I select the framed option for certain sizes?

This is a size restriction, not a stock issue. We are unable to frame and ship artworks beyond a certain size due to shipping restrictions and the risk of damage in transit. If the framed options are greyed out but rolled is still available, the size is too large for us to frame. We recommend ordering rolled and having it framed by a local framer.

What is the mirrored edge on my print?

The mirrored edge is a 50mm border printed around the outside of the artwork, designed to wrap around the stretcher bar when the print is framed or stretched. It is not part of the artwork itself. If you can see it on your framed print, ask your framer to re-stretch the print so the mirrored edge wraps fully around the stretcher bar. For framers: the mirrored edge is approximately 2 inches wide.

Can you frame cotton rag (fine art paper) prints?

We do not offer framing on cotton rag prints. Cotton rag requires glass for protection and the risk of glass damage during shipping is too high. We recommend taking it to a local framer who can frame it behind art glass.

Can you recommend a framer near me?

VIC: Dromana Picture Framing, Dromana. WA: Milford Framers. QLD: LeftBank Art Group. For all other areas, we recommend reaching out to your local framer. We are happy to give them any advice if they have questions about framing our prints.

I am worried about glare from perspex. What do you recommend?

We recommend art glass, which cuts out the majority of glare while still protecting your artwork. Art glass is a great option for Fine Art Paper prints framed behind glass.

My framed artwork has wire / direct hangers. Is this normal?

Smaller framed artworks use hanging wire. Larger and heavier framed artworks use direct hangers (D-ring hardware on each side at the top of the frame). Direct hangers evenly distribute the weight, which is safer and more secure for heavier pieces.

Can I change my frame colour after ordering?

If your order has not yet gone into production, we may be able to accommodate a frame colour change. Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com with your order number and the name your order was placed under as soon as possible.

How should I frame a cotton rag (fine art paper) print?

We recommend framing cotton rag prints behind art glass to protect the paper from moisture, humidity and UV damage. Without glass, cotton rag prints can be easily damaged. Handle with extreme care until framed as they can be marked easily.

Order Changes

Can I make changes to my order?

Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com with your order number and the first or last name your order was placed under. We will check if we can accommodate the change. Please note framed artwork is custom made to order so changes may not be possible once production has begun.

Can I cancel my order?

If your order has not yet entered production, we can look into a cancellation. Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com with your order number as soon as possible.

Can I change my print orientation (portrait to landscape)?

If your order has not yet been printed, we may be able to change the orientation. Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com as soon as possible.

Returns

What is your returns and exchange policy?

We offer a 7-day change of mind return policy on rolled canvas and rolled cotton rag prints. Change of mind returns are eligible for store credit or exchange only (not refunds). Store credit has no expiration date. Framed and stretched items are custom made to order and cannot be returned for change of mind. All items must be returned in the same condition they were received. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer for change of mind returns. Email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com within 7 days of receiving your item.

My artwork arrived damaged. What do I do?

Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com as soon as possible with your order number, photos of the damage and photos of the packaging. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving the product. We will arrange to repair, replace or refund the damaged product. For damaged items, we cover return shipping costs.

My print has a line or crease. Is this a defect?

A line near the edge is likely the mirrored edge, which is a border designed to wrap around the stretcher bar and is not part of the artwork. Ask your framer to re-stretch correctly. If you have a pressure crease, try gently rubbing water on the back and letting it dry. If neither resolves the issue, email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com with photos.

I received the wrong frame colour. What do I do?

Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com with your order number and a photo of the frame you received. We will arrange for a replacement and coordinate the return. Please keep the original packaging if possible.

My certificate of authenticity is missing.

Each limited edition print comes with a signed certificate. Sometimes the certificate is rolled on the outer lining inside the tube, so please check there first. If it is not in the tube, email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com and we will send a replacement.

My free gift was not included in my delivery.

Free gifts are sometimes shipped separately from your main order, especially if the main artwork is framed and the free gift is rolled. If you have not received it, email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com with your order number and we will check on it.

Samples

What are samples and what do they include?

Our samples are A5 swatches that show you the colours, textures and quality of the artwork on both canvas and cotton rag. Each sample is $24.95. When you go on to purchase a full-size print, we refund the cost of up to 3 samples (maximum $74.85). This offer is valid for 6 months from the sample order date.

How long do samples take to arrive?

Samples are always kept in stock and are shipped via Australia Post within 1 week of purchase. You will receive tracking details once your sample is on its way.

Care

Can I hang canvas artwork in a bathroom?

We would not recommend it. The fabric of the canvas can get mouldy if exposed to moisture over time.

How do I hang my artwork?

Your framed artwork arrives with hanging hardware already attached. We have a helpful video here: Watch video

How do I store a rolled print?

Keep it in the tube it arrived in, stored upright in a cool dry area away from direct sunlight. See our video

How should I protect my canvas print from UV damage?

Our canvas prints are giclee printed using archival pigment inks and come with a protective coating that provides UV resistance. To maximise longevity, avoid hanging in direct sunlight and choose a spot with consistent indirect light. LED or halogen lighting is preferable to fluorescent lights.

How should I protect my cotton rag print from UV damage?

For cotton rag prints framed behind glass, we recommend art glass which blocks 99% of UV and reduces glare.

How long will my print last?

Satin canvas prints are archival for 75+ years. Fine art paper (cotton rag) prints are archival for 100+ years. With proper care, your artwork is designed to be enjoyed for generations.

How do I clean my canvas print?

Gently dust with a clean, dry, soft lint-free cloth or soft brush. Do not use water, damp cloths or cleaning products on canvas prints.

Where should I avoid hanging my artwork?

Avoid areas with direct sunlight, high humidity (bathrooms, kitchens), extreme temperature fluctuations or above heat sources like fireplaces.

Mock-ups

Can you create a mockup of the artwork in my space?

Yes! Please email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com with a photo of your space, the dimensions of your wall and any nearby furniture, and which artworks you like or colours you are drawn to. We will create a visual mockup for you.

I need help choosing the right artwork. Can you help?

Absolutely! Send us a photo of your space and let us know what colour palette or collection you connect with most. We will suggest options and can create a mockup for you. Email howdy@stephbrookestudio.com to get started.

Originals

Does Steph take commissions?

Steph is not currently taking commissions. The waiting list grew too large and was closed rather than keeping people waiting. New collections throughout the year include original artworks which are the best opportunity to secure an original piece. Subscribe to our mailing list to be notified of new releases.

Do original artworks come with a frame?

Original artworks are sold stretched on a stretcher bar but without a frame. Framing is available for an additional charge with pricing listed on each product page. For international customers, original artworks are shipped rolled.

When does the next collection launch?

Subscribe to our mailing list at stephbrookestudio.com/pages/mailing-list-subscribe to be the first to know about upcoming collection releases and receive a private preview before launch.
